Examine Yourselves
An Indicator of Spiritual Lordship
Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test? II Corinthians 13:5
Instructions: check all that characterize your life
“The acts of the sinful nature are obvious:
[ ] sexual immorality, (fornication, homosexuality, sexual sins in general)
[ ] impurity (filth, uncleanness) and
[ ] debauchery; (sensuality, licentiousness, lewdness, i.e., unrestrained in moral attitudes and behaviors)
[ ] idolatry (worship of idols) and
[ ] witchcraft; (sorcery, black magic, the occult)
[ ] hatred, (enmity, hostile feelings and actions)
[ ] discord, (strife, dissension, conflict, quarrels, arguments)
[ ] jealousy, (envy, resentment)
[ ] fits of rage, (wrath, fury, outbursts of anger)
[ ] selfish ambition, (disputes, self-centeredness, selfish actions)
[ ] dissensions, (divisions, seditions, to self-righteously stand apart from others)
[ ] factions (a sect, opinion, dogma, a divisive way of thinking and acting) and
[ ] envy; (jealousy, covetousness)
[ ] drunkenness, (dissipation, drinking-bouts, addictions)
[ ] orgies, (excessive feasting, carousing, revelry, wild partying), and the like.
I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
But the fruit of the Spirit is
[ ] love, (kindness, self-sacrifice)
[ ] joy, (gladness, state of rejoicing, happiness)
[ ] peace, (harmony, tranquility; freedom from worry)
[ ] patience, (forbearance, calm, long on [not short of] temper)
[ ] kindness, (benevolence, usefulness, giving to others)
[ ] goodness, (uprightness, generosity)
[ ] faithfulness, (trustworthiness, complete dependability)
[ ] gentleness (humility, courtesy, considerateness, meekness) and
[ ] self-control (temperance, restraint, the discipline of the self).
Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires.” Galatians 5:19-24
“Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.” I Corinthians 6:9-10
So, how did you do on the test? By the testimony of your life style, who is really Lord of your life, Satan or God?
